The Story of Ding Moi Ubur
I am a South Sudanese leader committed to serving my people and contributing to the development of my community and country.
My journey has been shaped by education, community, leadership, and the experiences I have shared with my people. I began my education at KaKuma Refugee Secondary School, an experience that taught me the importance of resilience, determination, and the transformative power of education. I later continued my studies at Makerere University, where I gained further knowledge and experiences that have contributed to my personal and professional growth.
My journey has also given me the opportunity to understand the challenges and aspirations of our communities. Through my experiences, I have seen the importance of education, youth empowerment, peace, unity, and economic development in building a stronger and more prosperous society.
I believe leadership is first and foremost about service. To me, leadership means listening to people, understanding their concerns, and working together to find practical solutions. I value honest dialogue and believe that every citizen has an important role to play in shaping the future of South Sudan.
I am particularly passionate about creating opportunities for our young people. I believe our youth have immense talent, creativity, and potential. With access to quality education, skills, employment, entrepreneurship, and opportunities to innovate, they can become a powerful force for positive change and contribute meaningfully to the development of South Sudan.
I am also committed to strengthening our communities and supporting initiatives that create lasting opportunities for our people. I believe meaningful development begins by listening to communities, understanding their needs, and working together to develop practical solutions that improve people’s lives.
My commitment is to continue listening, learning, and working alongside our people. I believe that through peace, unity, integrity, and collective effort, we can overcome our challenges and build a future where every citizen has the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
